Experienced surfers from all over Australia and overseas congregate at the iconic surf mecca of Cactus to test their skills on two left hand breaks and one right hander. This is where they can experience the freedom of surfing in natural unspoilt surroundings. Winter time, with its big swells gives big waves, but surfers pick their times because of dangerous rips and stormy conditions.
The Ceduna Golf Club has blossomed into a semi-grassed 18 holes. The fairways are couch grass from around the sand scrapes to approximately 100 to 150 metres down the fairway. All ladies and men's tee blocks are lawn.
Cleve Golf Club is a challenging scenic course that follows the township of Cleve. The course has nine holes open all year and 18 holes in winter, and uses the natural features of the creek system, which aligns itself with the town.
Coffin Bay golf course has nine holes, with alternative tee blocks, in a picturesque setting amongst gum trees. The course consists of sand greens being 5,498 metres long, with a par of 72.
Tcharkulda Rock is a massive outcrop covered in the largest and most spectacular tafoni and boulders in the district. In winter the base of the tafoni are alive with the pink flowered rock crassula.
